Hello! We are in the process of planning the 2018 trip, and we’re glad you’re reading this. As usual, we will be camping at the Pine Glen Group Campground in beautiful Mammoth Lakes. Our side trips will include visits to the Mt. Whitney Fish Hatchery, fishing at Rock Creek Lake, an excursion to the Devil’s Postpile in the (world famous) Red’s Meadow, and a gondola ride to the top of Mammoth Mountain (the itinerary is subject to change depending on weather, availability, and basically whatever we feel like doing). We also provide activities a our campsite, like horseshoes, snacking, bocce, and snacking. Our trips are a lot of fun, and we’re not just saying that. Just ask any of the campers we’ve taken over the last five years. All you need to bring is a sleeping bag and some good cheer, and we’ll provide everything else… including transportation to and from Santa Clarita (a lift van and a passenger van), great food, tents, campfires, stargazing, fishing gear, entertainment of varying quality, t-shirts (probably), and plenty of lame jokes. The trip is completely free for you and a guest of your choosing (except that we can’t take any animals, so your guest must be human). That’s worth repeating: the trip is completely, utterly, and actually, FREE, for you and your guest. We modify our tents to make them accessible, and we provide sturdy raised cots (perfect for transferring) and sleeping mats. Flush toilets are accessible as well. Please take a moment to look through the web pages of the prior trips here on our website, and you’ll get an idea of what camping with the Walking Trout Foundation is like, and the fun our campers have.
